In the heart of Colmar, one of the most beautiful and most representative houses of the town is found. The superb residence dating from 1609 and classed as a historical monument, is the most famous monument in Colmar. One hundred and five grotesque masks adorn the façade of this 17th century house. La Maison des Têtes has a restaurant which serves an acclaimed typical Alsacian cuisine and is a meeting-place. A wonderful break in a hotel full of the local atmosphere.

Magnificent, wonderful and grand “We had an exceptional experience. The castel sits atop a mountain with incredible views. The rooms are grand with modern updated bathrooms. The huge pool was a big hit with our children. The staff could not have been nicer and more accomodating. We were very sad to leave!”
Chateau de Mercuès - pretty exteriors and great gourmet food “Exquisite gourmet food, great and friendly service in a beautiful great room. The Chateau’s own wines were delicious, and the list of other wines was enough to satisfy the most discriminating of palettes. The exterior of the castle at the garden are most beautiful. There is a wonderful swimming pool and the free and brief tour of the wine cellar was interesting.” Tripadvisor.com clients

Best option in Honfleur “If you are used to sophisticated hotels it will not be easy to find many in Honfleur. This hotel is located 10 minutes walk downhill to Honfleur´s centre. Its quiet location makes it still more appealing because once you finished your Honfleur stroll you go back to tranquility. The buildings are beautiful. The furnishings elegant and cozy. The restaurant first class gourmet cuisine. Breakfast as good as you may expect. Nice indoor pool and Spa. By far this is the best option for discerning travellers visiting Honfleur and environs.” Tripadvisor.com client “The hotel was delightful - the reception staff was exceptional. The fact that parking was available was also helpful. Luxury off the beaten path “We had a marvelous two nights at this establishment. One does not expect such an elegant, glamorous, even decadent place in the middle of a nature preserve, but that is what this is. It was the perfect end to a perfect trip. The dinner we had was inventive, elegant and delicious.” Great find! “The place is in a very quiet area. Loved the fact that I was woken by the farm birds, some of which appear to be rare breeds, in the morning. The food was superb, the rooms and the bathrooms great. This a place I would seek out again.” Tripadvisor.com clients “Once again a pure moment of pleasure... Fall in love with this hotel “After days of visiting in Provence, we moved in to this lovely hotel in Salon de Provence. You can immediately feel the calmness and peacefulness of this hotel. After we moved in and settled in our room, I and my husband decided to take a walk around this hotel. It won’t take you too long to realise that there are no more stress and tiredness from days of travel. The tranquil atmosphere, the magnificent scenery and gently breeze simply make you fall in love with this place, this hotel. We found a wonderful spot of this hotel, its on the cliff side. We sat down on the greens and sing songs after songs like young kids with beautiful view. I had my dinner with my family in this well Provence touched and designed ‘salle a manger’. Relax with fine quality! The food is nice, same to the fine quality of service. We had been travelling from Bordeaux to Provence and trust me, after days of visiting, I can tell the difference already. Both are nice places with their own charm and characteristic. This hotel room owns its Provence style without compromise any modern facility and quality. The hotel staff also makes you feel warm welcome with great hospitality. If I travel once again to Provence, I’ll definitely come back and enjoy this unforgettable memory. It is simply worthy!” Tripadvisor.com client “Excellent hotel. Lots of charm, very old stones. Excellent gastronomic food, marvelous view, nice people who always try to help, great pool. Really we enjoyed this stay: hors du temps.” Booking.com client

Best place to stay in the Camargue “The Hotel l’Estelle was a gem. The location was perfect, just a few kilometres from Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer so going into town, out for dinner, etc. was very easy. It’s also near several horseback riding places and it’s quite easy to head out to explore other towns such as Aigues Mortes. The rooms are very nice with views of a small lake, but the pool area is the best part, complete with a lovely jacuzzi on the edge of the lake. The best part of the hotel is the staff, particularly in helping to make suggestions about what to do. We did everything based on their ideas and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.” Tripadvisor.com client “I was lulled to sleep by the salty tang of the sea breezes! A lovely hotel situated in a quiet marshland. White horses, bulls and pink flamingos everywhere! The rooms are not large, but there is plenty of storage space. I had a lovely bath, gazing out my open window towards the lake, it was pure romance! The restaurant is excellent and has a wonderful and affordable wine menu. The staff was friendly and fun, and it starts with Sara at the front desk. Lovely, natural grounds and a lake walk! Tennis courts and a spa! The perfect eternity pool! What more could you want?” Booking.com client

A treasure in a small town “First lets state that this really is a Dining experience first and a hotel second... Think B&B not fancy resort. The food here is inventive, original and very well presented. The dining on the terrace is great, lovely view of the lake. We have been going here as a treat (from business nearby) for five years and that should be our review. It is such a treat to find a place like this in a small town... And it totally makes our trip. We’ve stayed in the hotel a few times, even with the lovely pool and gardens it is really a fine, elegant, cultured B&B not a resort. The breakfast makes it worthwhile and it is the best place in the area.” Superb hotel “Just perfect for a lover break. Splendid view, excellent table, charming and professional personnel, idyllic location…. What else?” Gastronomic stop “We spend a night in this very pleasant and well located hotel. The personnel is welcoming and discreet. The cuisine is interesting as per the quality of its products than its originality with a very nice wine card list. The breakfast is very good. In the North of the Loire estuary, this triangle of swamps, which stretches almost to the salty marshes of the Guérande peninsula on the West, shelters a fauna, a flora and houses protected from the industry’s and time’s assaults. Set on an archipelago of islands streaked with canals, villages distinguish themselves by the predominance of thatched roofs (the strongest concentration of thatched cottages in France). On the island of Fedrun, in the village of Saint-Joachim, Eric Guérin created a hotel-restaurant, La Mare aux Oiseaux, with a thatched roof also covered with water reed, in perfect harmony with his environment.

Travelers review
History, Charm, and Comfort! “This hotel has something for everyone. The location is beyond perfect. It is in the heart of Colmar which is, for this seasoned traveler of France, my favorite city of all. The Alsace is unique in so many ways...culture, cuisine, cleanliness, and protectors of the lovely storks. Colmar is the very heart of the Alsace. We stayed a week and took small trips around the region. This hotel was our home-base. It is the most photographed site in Colmar as it is on the “Street of Heads” (named for the hotel) which has gorgeous carvings of heads all over the front of the building. Our room was well appointed with all the amenities of a fine hotel and restaurant/chef renown throughout the area. The staff was wonderful and truly bent over backwards to make things easy and comfortable for their guests. If you go to France, Colmar is a must...if you go to Colmar, Hotel La Maison des Têtes is a wonderful choice. You will not be sorry.” Tripadvisor.com client “Excellent staff, great rooms. Travelers review
Our best ever meal in France “We stayed two nights at Georges Blanc and the hotel and its facilities were excellent. The village is dominated by the hotel, its separate auberge and its shop. Reception was efficient and friendly. An impressive feature is the endless stream of photos of all the well known people who have stayed there - politicians, film stars, sportsmen - which line the public areas. The room was comfortable and well presented. A complimentary bottle of Georges Blanc champagne arrived at the room shortly after we did. The main restaurant was busy but the service was faultless and so was the food. If ever we can manage to be in that area of France again we will return to this hotel.” Vonnas resort “Georges Blanc and his hotel and the surrounding properties are Vonnas. This village is lucky to have a most superb hotel with a spa and superb restaurant, indoor and outdoor pools for guests. A most delightful restaurant, it is possible to peek into the kitchen on the way to the bar and restaurant. Our room was lovely with a small balcony overlooking the river which runs through the village. The village has an auberge and a boulangerie and gift shop too, also a general provisions store selling gourmet foods to take home. All in all a great experience. Friendly staff and the great man himself, George Blanc signed us a souvenir menu. Well worth a visit.” Tripadvisor.com clients
